VGA Sniper Rifle

Description

General:
The “Sniper Rifle & Arcade Shotgun”, as its full name is, was released in 2004 by VGA (Video Game Accessories) for the PS2. They used the same mold as for the Pelican Sniper Scope for the XBOX, but blue was used instead of green color. The only supported gunmode is GunCon2 and there is no Playstation controller port. With its attachable scope, barrel and stock, it can be converted into either a shotgun or sniper rifle. The barrel is mounted with a bayonet closure, the scope is pushed in the bracket on top of the gun while the Stock is pushed inside the handle. The latter is rather hard to remove, even when the two buttons to release it are pressed.

Buttons:
Right Side: On the right side of the barrel are the “B”, “C” and a “Weapon Select” button, when the “TC AF” firemode is active this button will change to the next available gun. You can change this firemode with die 4-way switch next to the buttons. Above the Trigger is an on/off switch for the blowback feedback.

Left Side: On the barrel are the buttons “A”, a second “B” as well as “Start” and “Select”. Behind the Trigger is a little stick for directional control, it is rotated by 90° which means the “up” direction is pointed to the front of the gun.

Others: On the bottom of the barrel is a pump-action slide reloader which acts as a second “C” button.

Firemodes:

  • Normal
  • Autoreload: After six rounds
  • Autofire
  • TC AF: Autofiremode for Time Crisis 3

Feedback:
For feedback, it uses a kickback mechanism that is mounted inside the guns shell. It can not be seen from the outside. A Motor pushes a slide back and after reaching its back position a spring brings the slide back in its original position. No external power source is needed for the feedback to work.
