Description
In response to Nintendos Super Scope, Sega released its light gun called the “Menacer” in 1992. Like Nintendos pendant, it is wireless and also uses a receiver that connects to the controller port of the Mega Drive/Genesis. It came bundled with a game compilation that included six games, later it was also bundled with T2: The Arcade Game. Next to its main body, it came with a detachable stock and sights. The front part of the sight could be tilted to the left or right, because even though the sights look like a binocular, the user is supposed to look through one of them, depending on if the gun is used left- or right-handed. To power the device, six AAA Batteries are needed.
Besides the trigger, there are three buttons on the front handle. One of them is a pause button, the other two are action buttons for various functions. It does not feature an on/off switch for power, so it is advised to take out the batteries when the gun is not in use.
