The Placo Toys Video Shooter is a third-party light gun accessory designed for use with the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Manufactured by Placo Toys in 1988, it offers an alternative to Nintendo’s official NES Zapper while providing similar target-shooting gameplay for compatible NES light gun titles.
One of the most distinctive features of the Video Shooter is its wireless design. Unlike the standard NES Zapper, which connects directly to the console via a cable, the Placo Toys Video Shooter uses a separate receiver that plugs into the NES 2nd controller port. The Gun is powered by four AA Batteries, but not only for the wireless capabilities. Each time the trigger is pulled, a small bulb in the back of the gun flashes.
The light gun features a colorful blue and red plastic body, giving it a noticeably different appearance from Nintendo’s gray-and-orange Zapper.
