Description
In 2000, Max Play released the GunCon Light Gun for the original Playstation. On one picture on the back of the box there is the wrong controller plug, the one with PS1 and Saturn connector, which indicates that the gun should be released for both consoles at a certain point in development. The next error is that it is stated that a racing pedal can be connected to the base of the gun, but there is no connector. Even though the slide is retractable via a spring, there is no feedback when firing it. Inside the gun is even the bracket for a motor, but it seems that it was cut at some point in the development.
All buttons off the gun are on the left side. In the front is a “reload” button, next to the start button. The guncon mode can be activated via a switch, and the slide release acts as another reload button. The hammer is used to determine the fire mode.
There are three firing modes. Beside the standard mode, which is labeled “nor”, there is “half” in which on the first trigger pull shoots three bullets and on the second two bullets and then reloads. In the last mode, “auto”, the gun is in autofire and reloads after four, sometimes three or five, bullets.
