LOGIC3 PS099L

The Logic3 PS099L Laser Blaster is a third-party light gun controller designed for the Sony PlayStation and PlayStation 2 by Logic3 in 2000. It resembles, as the name suggests, a Walther P99 pistol. Logic3 released a different variations over the years:

Model Laser Sight Recoil Reload Pedal Support Notes
P99K No Yes Yes Original model
P99L Yes Yes Yes Fully featured version
PS099L Yes Yes No Revised P99L without pedal support
P99G2 No Yes Yes Updated P99K revision

The PS099L features a black plastic design with a realistic handgun-inspired appearance and includes additional controls such as a directional pad and function buttons integrated into the gun body. This allows navigation through game menus without requiring a separate controller.

One of the PS099L’s key features is its integrated laser sight, which provides a visual aiming reference when pointed at the screen. The controller also includes additional functions such as a Machine Gun mode, which enables automatic fire and auto-reload capabilities.

The gun comes with a blowback feedback, which means that on every shot, a motor moves the slide once and a spring then brings it back into its original position. The mechanism isn’t flawless, as the slide does not stop after being pulled back by the spring resulting in a second bounce. When autofire is activated, the feedback triggers continuously if the trigger is held down.
