Description
Even though it is stated that the N64 had the first haptic feedback for game controllers in 1997, Bandai released the Hyper Shot in 1989 with a blowback mechanic, making it not only the first light gun but also the first game controller with such a feature. The feedback is powered by four C batteries. In addition to that it was also equipped with a speaker to play the games’ audio. The Gun came bundled with the game “Space Shadow”, which was the only game to support these features, but other games like Wild Gunman could be played. Its black body seems to be loosely modeled after the Heckler & Koch MP5, with some futuristic changes.
Besides the mandatory trigger, the gun has the Start and Select buttons on the left side, as well as a Mini-Stick on the inside of the front handle, which acts a Digi-Pad. Normal games like Mario Bros. can’t be played as there are no A and B buttons.
