BLAZE Scorpion (green)

Description

The Scorpion was released in 1998 by Blaze, however this green model seems to have its release in 1999 as there is a date in the manual which refers to april 1999. The orange tip of this specific model tells that it was a USA release, as it had to be clearly identifiable as a toy weapon. It supports the original Playstation with GunCon as well as the Sega Saturn. The Gun is obviously modeled after the Walther PPK but has no official license.

On the left side are buttons for manual reload and start, as well as switches for the GunCon mode and the firemodes. The firemodes include the usual autoreload and autofire+autoreload, in which the reload happens after six rounds. The hammer acts as an additional button and is labeled “Special Weapon”. On the bottom of the grip is a switch to turn the rumble feedback on or off.

The gun uses a rumble feedback, which is powered with two AAA batteries (even though the manual states that there are no additional batteries needed). The circuit is completely separated from the lightgun electronics, that is why there are two microswitches behind the trigger.
