HAIS Game Light Gun

Hais released the Game Light Gun for the PS2 and original XBOX, it can also be used with the PS1. It is modeled after the Beretta M9 gun and even has the Beretta imprints on its mold.

On the right side, there is only a “B” Button. The left is more crowded with an “A” Button under the Barrel as well as two buttons for “Start” and “Select/Back” on the attachment. Above the handle are two switches. The first is for selecting the gunmode, it can be set to “Guncon”, Guncon2″ and “XBOX”. Next to it is the switch to select the firemode, the options are “Normal” and “Autofire+Autoreload”. On the handle is a “C” button, and instead of a hammer there is a digital control stick.

For easier aiming, a laser is mounted under the barrel, which is only activated if the gun is pointed at the TV. There are two wheels on the attachment to calibrate it.

For feedback, it uses a kickback mechanism. With every shot, the slide strongly gets pushed back twice, as if two shots were fired. The feedback does not need an external power source on the PS2 and XBOX, as long as the controller port is connected. On a Ps2 slim however, you need to connect an adapter between the PS2 slim and it’s power brick. The other end of that adapter plugs into the controllerport of the gun.
